'A chamber group of musicians to be reckoned with.'
Granados developed an important performance career not only as a soloist, but as a chamber musician, working with Pablo Casals and Jacques Thibaud, to whom he dedicated his Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major. Only the first movement was performed in Granados' lifetime, and this was rediscovered and published in the 1970s. Manuscripts of a second, incomplete fourth, and a very likely third movement have now been recently rescued, affording the much-awaited opportunity to hear this great piece in full, and to contemplate Granados amidst a shift in the late development of his compositional style away from that of his familiar Goyescas.
First-prize winners at the Anglo-Czech Trust Competition and recently selected as featured artists by Making Music's Concert Promoters' Network, the Concordia Foundation Young Artists Scheme and the Kings Place Chamber Studio scheme, the Erato Piano Trio is rapidly establishing a reputation as one of the UK’s leading young ensembles, praised for their virtuosity, outstanding musicianship and stylistic versatility. Formed at the Royal College of Music in 2005, the Trio have played across the UK's major venues and festivals and internationally, including collaborations with distinguished Spanish clarinettist Joan Enric Lluna and a recording of works by David Braid for the Toccata Classics label.
