'The Ibero-American Guitar': Music from Spain and Latin America

'A rare combination of energy, expression and perfect technique.'

Leo Brouwer

Daniela Rossi, one of the most outstanding classical guitarists of the new generation, performs a selection of dazzling guitar works from across the Latin world by composers from Spain, Mexico and Cuba alongside pieces from her native Argentina by Astor Piazzolla.

Currently based in Cambridge, Daniela Rossi originally studied at the Conservatory of Bahía Blanca, her hometown, and at the Segovia Guitar Academy in Italy. Since then she has also studied with many leading guitarists and teachers worldwide, including Eduardo Isaac, Victor Villadangos and Graham Devine. Having garnered awards at numerous international competitions, including First Prize at both the London International Guitar Competition and the Luis Sigall International Music Competition in Chile, Rossi now enjoys a busy international career, with regular performances in the UK and throughout Europe and Latin America. Highlights include appearances at the Antewerp Festival in Belgium, the Hamburger Gitarrentage in Germany, and a performance of Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez at London's Kings Place with the Newham Philhamonic.

A versatile artist, Rossi is equally at home with music from all periods, including contemporary composers such as Vincent Lindsey Clark and Jeffrey Mc Fadden who have written works especially for her. With an growing discography, her most recent album (forthcoming) explores the works of Romantic composer Giulio Regondi.
