Echoes Festival receives no regular public subsidy, and income from ticket sales alone is not enough to cover the considerable costs of engaging the very best international talent in Latin classical music. We couldn’t exist without financial support from grants, local businesses, and generous, like-minded individuals who share our commitment to making the highest quality concerts available to the greatest number of people possible. Your support is therefore crucial in helping us to plan for the future.
Whether you would like to support us an an individual or a business, there are numerous ways you can help, from becoming a Friend of the Festival, to sponsoring an event, leaving a legacy or just lending some of your free time and skills to help out behind the scenes and spreading the word. However you choose to support us, your contribution can play a huge role in helping us to improve the reception of Latin classical music in the UK. Echoes Festival is an entirely not-for-profit initiative, which means that everything you give goes directly towards our activities.

You inspire the music in us, and we're keen to work closely with all those who feel passionate about taking a more active role in influencing the shape of our Festival. We'd love to hear about YOUR ideas; perhaps you would like to support a particular artist or champion the music of a specific composer?; or maybe you'd like to support specific educational and outreach projects? This is your opportunity to be part of the action, get behind the scenes and work with the musicians and creatives who bring the music to life.

Leave a Legacy

Remembering Echoes Festival in your will gives you the opportunity to make a lasting impact on this wonderful Festival, ensuring its future and continued development for years to come.
Leaving a gift in your will is a very personal matter and if you are interested in leaving a legacy, of any kind, to Echoes Festival, then we very much invite you to discuss your plans with us in confidence to make sure that your wishes are understood and can be fulfilled. Alternatively, if you have already remembered Echoes Festival in your will then we would also love to hear from you and thank you for your special gift.

What kind of legacy or bequest can I leave?
Legacy gifts can take the form of cash, shares or property, and Echoes Festival can accept legacies and bequests of any of the following types:
​
Residuary: a residuary legacy is the value remaining once all pecuniary legacies, debts, fees and other charges have been met. You can leave whole or part of the residue to the Academy. The value of a residuary legacy is not affected by inflation.
Pecuniary: this is a legacy of a specific sum of money. You may want to request that it be linked to inflation in order for it to retain its value over the years.
Assets: a legacy need not be a sum of money. Instead, you can leave assets such as property, stocks, shares, library collections, artefacts or other valuables. Please do contact us to discuss your plans.

If leaving a gift with a specific purpose in mind, you might also want to express the wish for the bequest to be endowed. In this case, the capital of the bequest would be invested by us to produce an annual income which would then fund a recurring annual event or educational bursary for years to come.
​
Since Echoes Festival is administered by ILAMS, a registered charity (no. 1092749), any legacy you make is not subject to Inheritance Tax, which means a bequest to the Echoes Festival will be deducted from the value of the estate before any tax liability is deducted.
​
If you wish to remember Echoes Festival in your will, please consult your solicitor who can also advise you on the tax relief available. If you have already written a will but would now like to leave a gift to Echoes Festival, this can be achieved by the simple addition of a codicil which allows you to include new instructions without having to rewrite the whole will.

Echoes Festival is run almost entirely by volunteers. If you feel you can't support the Festival financially, volunteering for us is a great way to make a difference (and make new friends!). Echoes Festival is organised by ILAMS (the Iberian & Latin American Music Society), a registered charity, number 1092749. Please help us to spread the word about the Festival.
