Piazzolla's L'histoire du tango: the most frequently invoked piece in the entire Latin Classical repertoire. We invite you to hear a fresh, new interpretation in the authentic hands of two leading Argentine soloists, Amalia Pérez and Darío Barozzi. Filmed against the backdrop of the sumptuous Estudio Charlone patio in Buenos Aires, the event sets the work in the context of the 19th-century tango roots that inspired it. Tracing the tango's various eras, the work is concluded with a special new commission by Barozzi to mark the composer's centenary: APP 2021 - an additional movement which updates the Suite into the preset day. Alongside other works from the guardia vieja, tango's first flourish, we present Piazzolla's other great gift to the flute: the complete Tango-Etudes.
