Whilst Claude Debussy (1862-1918) never set foot on Spanish soil, Iberia provided the inspiration for some of his greatest works; indeed, he did more than perhaps any other foreign composer to construct a musical picture of Spain in the imagination of international audiences. Manuel de Falla claimed that the Frenchman’s evocations of Spain - which he described as being ‘en español’ rather than ‘à l’espagnole’ - were the most accurate ever composed up to then.

To mark Debussy's centenary, join us for an evening of sumptuous French and Spanish classics performed by soloists from Talent Unlimited. The programme features a selection of Debussy's Spanish-themed chamber works alongside others by several of his Spanish contemporaries and collaborators such as Falla, Rodrigo, Nín, Mompou and Turina.

Part of our new Young Performer's Platform, this collaboration with Talent Unlimited - a visionary UK charity supporting the nurturing of young professional talent in classical music - aims to showcase  Luso/Hispanic young performers based in the UK, as well as introducing Iberican repertoire to the next generation of non-native musicians.
